Job Description - Certification Specialist - OKC

At Circle of Care, Inc., we're on a mission to spread Christian help, healing, and hope across OklahomaWe're on the lookout for a talented individual with the passion to drive our mission and strengthen the lives of children in Oklahoma by joining us as a Certification Specialist.  The Certification Specialist is responsible for working with families to complete all home certification paperwork and home study.  As part of that process, the Certification Specialist is responsible for guiding families through the foster parent application process, collecting all necessary paperwork, home study coordination, training foster parent curriculum, and other responsibilities related to the home certification process.


                                                                                                    


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


●      Oversee all the necessary paperwork, processing, and certification of foster families throughout the approval process and monitor and report prospective foster parent file deficiencies to Foster parent, Family Specialist, and Program Director


●      Responsible for the coordination and writing of the Resource Family Assessment


●      Coordinate information requests from prospective foster parents and assure follow up with the request


●      Assist with conducting internal audits according to Circle of Care and regulatory quality assurance standards


●      Assess family history and background to determine appropriateness for certification.


●      Report ongoing pre-licensure and post -licensure foster home concerns to Program Director


●      Attend trainings and meetings as required by the agency, OKDHS and as needed to maintain social work licensure


●      Exemplify the mission and vision of Circle of Care to staff, clients and families served


●      Train foster parents with the Guiding Principles training curriculum monthly on the weekend


●      Perform all duties within the contract, state and federal regulations, Circle of Care policy and procedure, in conjunction with COA standards


●      Assist with foster care recruiting events including presenting and speaking as needed


●      Frequent statewide travel in your personal vehicle


●      All other duties as assigned


 


SKILLS and ABILITIES


●      Have strong communication skills and are relationship-oriented


●      Have excellent writing skills


●      Commitment to the mission of providing help, healing, and hope to the children of Oklahoma


●      Have a cheerful, collaborative approach to problem-solving and decision making


●      Flexibility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously


●      Enjoy working in a team environment for the good of others in the community


●      Have an attention for detail in assessing and documenting information


●      Must exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality


●      Tolerance to work under adverse conditions


●      Work independently, and as a team member, without constant supervision


●      Maintain willingness to work flexible hours in order to meet the needs of the agency


●      Regular evening and weekend work required


●      Ability to use standard office equipment


●      Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams with the ability to learn additional software


●      Capable of lifting heavy objects of up to 35 pounds


●      Ability to ascend and descend stairs


●      Become familiar with all of Circle of Care programs and facilities


●      Committed to the mission, vision, and CORE values of Circle of Care


 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


●      Must be at least 21 years of age


●      Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred; at least two years of experience in social service field


●      Pass a thorough background check (including fingerprinting), Department of Transportation check, pre-employment physical, and drug test as required by Department of Human Services


●      Possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and a good driving record

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:


Bachelor's Degree in a social service field (Required)


2 Years of Social Work Experience (Required)


Oklahoma Driver's License (Required)
