Travel CERTIFIED Central Sterilization Technician (Days)

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced CERTIFIED Central Sterilization Technician for a 13-week travel assignment in Juneau, AK.
Contract Details
  • Monday through Friday Rotating shifts: 7am - 3:30pm 8am - 4:30pm 9am - 5:30pm
  • Start Date: 9/21/2026
  • Contract: 13 Weeks
  • Location: Juneau, AK
  • Hourly Pay: $ 27.50
  • Non-taxed Stipend: $ 1085.00
  • Weekly Total Pay: $ 1910.00
  • Vaccination Policy: Must have Flu Vaccine
  • EMR Used: Meditech
  • Traveler Policy: only accepts traveler profile applications from travelers that live at least 50+ miles away from the facility address they are working at. Rate is all inclusive and will not be providing housing or flights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all steps necessary for the proper decontamination, disinfection, sterilization and packaging of instruments and equipment for OR
  • Supports decontamination, disinfection, sterilization and packaging of instruments and equipment as needed for other services as workload permits.
  • Completely and thoroughly dissembles instruments and equipment to ensure the removal of any debris, surgical soil and bioburdens prior to sterilization or high-level disinfection.
  • Performs multi-step procedures to effectively reprocess various instruments, including autoclaving.
  • Performs and validates all cleaning of instruments using policies and procedure, manufacturers’ instructions for use guidelines, along with the Association for the Advancement of Medical
  • Instrumentation (AAMI) guidelines.
  • Maintains records for all sterilization procedures that are processed including interpretation of all biological monitoring, validation of monitoring results, and quality assurance checks to ensure sterilization parameters are met.
  • Effectively communicates with providers and staff to problem solve in the event of an instrument shortage and the need to substitute and/or offer alternatives.
  • Verifies that equipment functions properly, requisitions for equipment maintenance, repair, or replacement, and removes defective equipment.
  • Maintains competency in sterilization reprocessing by return demonstration and participating in continuing education as requested.
  • Assists in the training and certification of members of the team on sterilization process as needed.
  • Performs additional supply handling duties for Specialty Care and Primary Care as time permits secondary to sterilization/reprocessing responsibilities.
  • Duties include: Product ordering and stocking, Inventory checks, Other basic inventory management functions as needed.

Compensation:

  • Weekly Pay (hourly) + Non-taxed Stipend (if eligible)

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • MUST have enough experience to be able to work independently. A minimum of 2 years experience required.
  • One (1) year experience in a healthcare environment preferred
  • High school diploma/GED is required
  • Certification in Sterile Processing and/or Technology required through either the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or
  • Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HPSA).
  • Must have Certification in Sterile Processing and/or Technology required through either the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HPSA)
  • Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification during employment
  • Effective team skills including interaction, support, and respect are required.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and reliability
  • Ability to learn and apply basic computer skills including locating and opening documents, completing forms, opening and sending e-mail messages.
