Certified Coder

• CPT and ICD coding Radiology Procedures and late charges for all facilities
• Assign “Merit-based Incentive Payment System” codes (MIPs)
• Maintain quality assurance standards for department and reports any discrepancies
• Other duties as assigned.Responsible for the accuracy of CPT and ICD coding of radiology reports
• Professionally and congenially handle a variety of personalities
• Ability to multi-task
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Able to meet weekly deadlines with high degree of accuracy

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Medical Coding certification required through AAPC, AHIMA, RHIA or RHIT

Skills: Computer literate, word processing, multi-tasking, strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy; current insurance guidelines; surgical coding

Experience: Radiology strongly preferred; 2+ years current coding experience;  2+ years in medical office or related setting
