Job Description - Certified Instructor





Description

Conscious Discipline is seeking a dedicated and passionate Conscious Discipline Certified Instructor to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Engagement, the Certified Instructor will be an integral part of a “best in class” team of experts who practice and deliver Conscious Discipline and engage audiences via the instructional delivery of Conscious Discipline content. 

CDCI's are aligned with the goal of massively scaling the reach of Conscious Discipline. All CDCI's are highly encouraged to help generate leads for contract work by networking in their communities and states and submitting proposals to present Conscious Discipline sessions at conferences. 

Duties include: 

  • Present at National and International Conferences such as but not limited to: NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) ASCD Association Supervision and Curriculum Development) Head Start Conferences, National Migrant Conference, State conferences etc. 
  • Co-present at the Advanced Conscious Discipline Institute. 
  • Lead in presenting at least 2 two-day company workshops.
  •  Lead in presenting at Conscious Discipline Summer Institutes.
  •  Lead in presenting in Conscious Discipline Academies.
  •  Present and coach on the “Feeling Buddies” self-regulation curriculum.
  •  Implementation of Conscious Discipline powers, skills, language, and structures with fidelity for at least 5 years in one or more of the areas listed in the job description.
  •  Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature on topics such as trauma, brain development, brain and behavior, effective classroom practices, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
  •  Evaluate educators’ progress. 
  • Prepare course materials, such as syllabi, evaluations and handouts.
  •  Instruct educators individually and in groups, using various teaching methods, such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. 
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Five years' experience as an education professional with experience in coaching, presenting, preparing course materials and evaluating educator's progress. Must have experience in implementing and teaching Conscious Discipline.
  • SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be 100% bilingual in English and Spanish as will be required to present and coach both in English and Spanish reaching bilingual communities and monolingual communities. Travel will be required to train at training and coaching events on average of 15 days per month. Will also be required to present at workshops and academies and National conferences. Travel throughout the United States to present at such events is required.
