Certified Medical Assistant

Overview:

ACI Health is seeking a certified and experienced Medical Assistant to support healthcare services at the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) in Hazelton, located in Bruceton Mills, WV. This is a meaningful opportunity to deliver high-quality patient care in a unique correctional setting- offering a competitive hourly rate of $19/hour and an immediate sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting physicians and providers with patient exams and minor surgical procedures
• Recording vital signs, preparing patients, administering medications as directed
• Performing tasks such as blood draws, EKGs, urinalysis, and glucose testing
• Maintaining medical records, clinic supplies, and ensuring infection control compliance
• Collaborating with clinic staff to manage patient flow and ensure timely care
• Using government electronic medical systems (e.g., BEMR, SENTRY)

Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, NCMA, or CCMA)
• Current and unrestricted license to practice in West Virginia
• CPR certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• Strong interpersonal and clinical skills
• Experience in a correctional or institutional setting preferred but not required

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• Day shifts between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM (7.5–10 hours/day)
• Federal holidays off

Work Environment:

• FCC Hazelton includes multiple facilities: USP, FCI, SFF, and SPC
• All equipment and supplies are provided by the institution
• Professional attire required (scrubs or business casual, per facility guidelines)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
