Position: Certified Medical Assistant
Location: North Bergen, NJ
Duration: 2 Months

Job Summary:
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is responsible for assisting in providing clinical care to select patients under the supervision of the professional nurse or licensed medical practitioner. Additionally, the CMA provides clerical office assistance to ensure efficient operations.

Essential Generic Job Functions:

1. Prepare exam room, treatment room, supplies, and instruments.
2. Prepare patients for physician visits and examinations, assisting as directed.
3. Take patients' vital signs and record them in medical charts.
4. Understand the proper function and care of special equipment.
5. Perform various medical tests and procedures including EKG, PFT, Audiometry, Titmus Test, UDS, BAT, Phlebotomy, and other lab testing as indicated.
6. Maintain accurate patient records, file records, and reports.
7. Assist with collections/billing procedures as needed.
8. Utilize computer software to maintain office systems.
9. Identify and respond to issues of confidentiality.
10. Modify and deliver care specific to the needs of the patient population served, considering factors such as age, culture, language, and sensory impairments.
11. Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
12. Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
13. Lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 10 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 6 hours a day.
