Certified Medical Assistant: Conroe / Greenspoint Health Center

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to become a part of our team! You will be responsible for direct client care and administrative duties for primary care services with the specialty provider team. 

Responsibilities:

• Assist to provide direct care services for specialty services (i.e., podiatry, psychiatry, nutrition).


• Follow-up on client referrals Assist with direct patient care procedures and related tasks: check in, vitals, obtaining client history, assist with medical examinations.


• Performs routine procedures as injections, venipunctures and sterile dressing changes as directed by medical personnel.


• Perform medication inventory control checks.


• Perform essential work within Electronic Health Record system and program data entry systems with a high degree of accuracy and completeness.


• Knowledgeable of HIPAA and OSHA regulations.


• Communicate in a culturally competent and effective manner to clients/caregivers regarding the services available.


• Other tasks/duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Medical Assistance experience - one year minimum or proven volunteer history in the medical field; new grads encouraged to apply.


• Medical assistant training or equivalent clinical training


• Experience working in primary care or family practice setting.


• Good keyboard skills - 35 wpm


• Ability to work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress.


• Detailed oriented and organized.


• Great interpersonal and communication skills


• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus

Working Conditions:

• The position occasionally requires sitting, standing and bending. Occasional very light lifting, up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight may be required.


• Must be willing to travel to Greenspoint Health Center
