Job Description - Certified Nurse Midwife


Riverland Community Health is a Federally-Qualified Health Center in St. Paul, where patients receive community-based Family Practice medical care in addition to mental health, dentistry, social work and other integrated services. JOB SUMMARY:

The Certified Nurse Midwife’s primary responsibility is to play a crucial role in delivering exceptional healthcare services and contributing to the mission of improving health and well-being for all individuals. Provide full antenatal care, clinical examinations and screenings.  This position is 0.75 FTE.  


Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in the direct provision of primary care services to patients in the health center.
  • Collect patient health histories, vital signs.
  • Maintain patient records accurately and follow established clinic protocols.
  • Provide service tailored to patients' needs with professionalism and compassion.
  • Provide antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, family planning and primary health care.
  • Ensure positive patient experiences and accurate management of patient records.
  • Perform all tasks related to patient care in compliance with clinic policies and procedures.
  • Establish positive relationships with patients, family members, and clinic staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to client confidentiality policy.
  • Uphold the organization's values, mission, and corporate policies at all times.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols and clinical procedures.
  • Maintain current registration as a Midwife in compliance with state regulations.
  • Clinical fluency in Spanish is advantageous.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Certificate of graduation from an accredited midwifery program.
  • Previous work experience in a clinical setting is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Ob/Gyn practices preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and formal Nurse Midwife training program
  • APRN, CNM with current state licensure.
  • Current midwifery certification through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
  • Completion of midwifery education program certified by the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM).
  • Current CPR Certification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a clinic office environment. Contact with staff, patients and outside agencies. Possible exposure to communicable disease and medical preparations common to clinic environment.

SCHEDULE:

FTE 0.75 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • N/A

Salary is $57 to $80 hourly DOE
