Position Summary: The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Hideways is vital in providing our residents direct personal care and assistance with daily living activities. The CNA is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment, promoting resident independence, and adhering to New Hope CORPS' standards of care, facility policies, and all relevant state and federal regulations. This position requires empathy, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for working with older adults.
Essential Responsibilities and Target Outcomes:

The Residential Manager plays a dual role in ensuring residents' health and well-being while managing the residential facility's day-to-day operations. This individual is responsible for direct resident care, coordinating services, maintaining safety and compliance standards, and supporting an atmosphere of respect, safety, and community.
Specific Responsibilities and Target Outcomes:
· Operate front desk functions: answer phones, greet visitors and residents.
· Maintain the visitor log and track resident parking decals.
· Ensure daily operations of the facility are functioning efficiently and safely.
· Conduct regular building rounds and enforce safety/security policies.
· Delegate tasks to volunteers and peer leaders.
· Manage resident crises and conflict resolution. Manage the daily operations of the Residence site, including facilities, crisis management, and service connection
Exercise independent decision making and delegate tasks to volunteers and resident peer leaders.
Collaborate with the Program Director and Operations Lead to foster a safe environment and promote personal stability and community.
Conduct regular building rounds and enforce policies that monitor visitors and guests to ensure the safety of the residents and the security of the building.
Help promote policies and procedures related to services that improve residents' Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
Collaborate with the Operations Department to ensure the safety and maintenance of the facilities, and provide leadership during facility emergencies.
Manage conflicts and personal emergencies experienced by the residents.
Provide direct service to the residents, including life-skills coaching, transportation, and interpersonal conflict resolution.
Develop and maintain relationships with residents, staff, and local service providers, and participate in community meetings.
Documentation and Communication:
Document care, observations, and changes in resident conditions accurately.
Participate in care planning and shift report meetings.
Communicate respectfully and effectively with residents, families, and staff.
o Accurately document all care provided, observations, and changes in resident condition by facility policies and regulatory requirements.
o Communicate effectively and respectfully with residents, their families, and interdisciplinary team members.
o Participate in care planning meetings and shift reports as required.
Safety and Compliance:
o Adhere to all HIPAA regulations regarding resident confidentiality.
o Follow all emergency procedures and safety protocols.
o Comply with all New Hope CORPS policies and procedures and state and federal regulations governing assisted living facilities.
o Attend mandatory in-service training and continuing education programs.
· Promote Resident Well-being:
o Provide direct care and life-skills coaching to residents.
o Conduct weekly wellness checks and report findings.
o Support Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as hygiene, mobility, and nutrition.
o Offer transportation and companionship and facilitate resident engagement.
o Maintain a safe and respectful environment that encourages independence.
Qualifications:
· Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
· Certification: Valid and current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Florida.
· Familiarity with Microsoft Office, ability to efficiently learn and navigate computer systems
· Bilingual English/ Spanish preferred
· Peer Service Specialist Certification is desirable, but not required.
· Experience: Previous experience in an Assisted Living, Long-Term Care, or similar healthcare setting preferred. Experience working with older adults is strongly desired.
· Skills & Abilities:
o Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
o Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
o Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
o Empathy, patience, and compassion when interacting with older adults.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
o Basic computer proficiency for documentation purposes.
o Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting, bending, standing for long periods, and assisting residents with mobility (ability to lift to [X] lbs independently and [Y] lbs with assistance).
o Ability to remain calm and effective in emergencies.
· Requirements:
o Must successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
Working Conditions:
· Works in a residential living facility environment.
· May be exposed to various noises, temperatures, and resident care situations.
· Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
· May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
