Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technician to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in surgical procedures, ensuring the operating room is prepared and maintained to the highest standards. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy, aseptic techniques, and infection control practices to support patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes.

Duties

• Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
• Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and other necessary items.
• Monitor patient conditions during surgery by collecting data and maintaining a sterile environment.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure effective communication and workflow in the operating room.
• Adhere to infection control protocols to minimize risks of contamination.
• Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic for documentation and data management.
• Participate in ongoing education regarding medical-surgical practices and advancements in surgical technology.

Certfications: BLS, CST, NBSTSA

Years of Experience:
2 year(s)

Charting System: Preferred, Epic

Start date: ASAP

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of human anatomy and surgical procedures.
• Proficiency in suture techniques and handling various surgical instruments.
• Experience in an operating room (OR) setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with acute care environments and hospital medicine practices.
• Demonstrated understanding of infection control measures and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
