Certified Pharmacy Technician

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is looking for a dedicated and hard-working Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPT) to work full-time in the medical department at the Jennifer Road Detention Center located in Annapolis, MD. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care and perform duties under the supervision of an RN.

Available Shifts: Monday - Friday, Day Shift (8 am - 4:30 pm) hours are flexible

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain accountability and detailed inventory for pharmacy medications and supplies (mainly controlled narcotics)
• Strict confidentiality of pharmacy information at all times
• Maintain neat and well-organized pharmacy medications and supplies, if applicable
• Type up various reports, letters, and memos
• Maintain a pleasant working attitude
• Answer the phone and process calls
• Report any issues with missing pharmacy medications and supplies
• Assist with quarterly Pharmacy inspections
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Submit a copy of professional licenses and other credentialing information to the corporate office.
• Any/all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or delegated
• Potentially travel to the Ordnance Road Detention Center one day a week 

Please note that you will be maintaining the documents and medications, not dispensing

This position provides a 2-week orientation period where you will be training on the job and shadowing with the nursing staff.

(Please note that the pay range is not a sliding scale based on experience; it reflects the base pay as well as the differentials offered between shifts.)

• High school graduate or GED
• Graduate of a Certified Pharmacy Technologist Program or CPT License - required
• One (1) year of experience as a pharmacy technologist, preferred
• Working knowledge of all pharmaceutical equipment
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office products
• Ability to type with accuracy
• Effective communication and telephone manner skills
• Effective computer skills
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Working knowledge of office practices and procedures, English, spelling, and math.
