Certified Phlebotomy Technician

A busy, multi-site medical clinic is seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) to join our dynamic clinical team. The ideal candidate is a compassionate professional with a strong background in high-volume blood collection and a commitment to patient safety and care. In this role, you will be responsible for performing phlebotomy procedures on a diverse patient population, from pediatrics to geriatrics, across our main facility and various satellite clinics.

Assignment length: 4 months with possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure rigorous adherence to patient identification protocols and accurately label all specimens to maintain sample integrity.
• Communicate effectively with clinical staff using proficient knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strictly follow all HIPAA, OSHA, and institutional safety and quality control standards.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and organized phlebotomy station and supply cart.
• Demonstrate flexibility by providing staffing coverage and traveling to satellite clinic locations as required.

Experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician in a clinical or laboratory setting.

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

Licensure & Certifications:

• Must possess a current and valid California State Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) License.
• Must hold a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate.

Skills:

• Proven proficiency in venipuncture and skin puncture techniques.
• Excellent patient service and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Language: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.

Other: Must have a valid California driver's license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation.

 $25 - $31 per hour, commensurate with experience
