We are looking for a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) to provide clinical care and custom device solutions for patients requiring prosthetic and orthotic treatment in Queens, New York. This role focuses on evaluating patients, designing and fitting prosthetic and orthotic devices, and supporting individuals through rehabilitation and mobility improvement. The position collaborates closely with physicians, therapists, and care teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered outcomes.
Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations including medical history review, physical assessment, and functional goal analysis
• Design and develop customized prosthetic and orthotic devices based on patient needs and clinical recommendations
• Measure, cast, and fit patients with prosthetic and orthotic devices, ensuring proper function and comfort
• Perform static and dynamic alignment adjustments to optimize device performance and patient mobility
• Educate patients on device use, care, and maintenance to support successful rehabilitation outcomes
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate treatment plans
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and ensure compliance with ABC/BOC standards and regulatory requirements
• Evaluate and treat patients across multiple care settings including clinics, hospitals, and rehabilitation facilities
• Current certification as a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) from the American Board for Certification (ABC) or Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics or related field
• 2+ years of clinical experience providing prosthetic and orthotic care preferred
• Strong understanding of biomechanics, prosthetic and orthotic design, and device fitting techniques
• Experience measuring, casting, fabricating, and adjusting orthotic and prosthetic devices
• Strong patient communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with regulatory standards
$84,500 – $119,900 per year based on experience.
