We are looking for a skilled Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) to join a patient-centered clinical team in Columbia, South Carolina. This role focuses on helping patients restore mobility and independence through customized prosthetic and orthotic solutions. The clinician will evaluate functional needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and provide expert device fitting and adjustments to support rehabilitation goals.
Working in a collaborative healthcare setting in Columbia, the CPO will partner with physicians, physical therapists, and other medical professionals to ensure patients receive coordinated and effective care. The role requires both strong technical expertise and a compassionate approach to patient support.
This position is ideal for a clinician who values precision in device design, patient education, and measurable rehabilitation outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed patient assessments to evaluate mobility challenges and functional requirements in Columbia, South Carolina
Develop individualized prosthetic and orthotic treatment plans tailored to each patient’s rehabilitation goals
Design, fabricate, fit, and modify custom prosthetic and orthotic devices for improved comfort and performance
Collaborate with physicians, rehabilitation therapists, and clinical staff to coordinate patient care
Educate patients and caregivers on device operation, safety, and maintenance practices
Monitor treatment progress and adjust devices as recovery and mobility needs evolve
Maintain accurate clinical documentation, treatment notes, and patient records
Deliver compassionate, ethical, and patient-centered care throughout every clinical interaction
Licensed Prosthetist/Orthotist in South Carolina or eligibility for state licensure
Certification through ABC (American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics) or BOC (Board of Certification/Orthotics & Prosthetics)
Prior experience in prosthetic and orthotic clinical practice preferred
Strong interpersonal communication skills for patient counseling and interdisciplinary teamwork
Ability to evaluate biomechanical needs and implement effective device solutions
