Wilson Care, a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility (SMHRF) in Chicago, IL, has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS). $20.00 per hour.  THIS IS NOT A CNA POSITION!  

*CRSS (Certified Recovery Support Specialist) credentials required.  You must have taken the state sanctioned CRSS course and have passed the state exam.

*The Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) is a credential for those who provide mental health or co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse recovery support to others. A person with the CRSS credential uses unique insights gained through personal recovery experience.

Responsibilities of the Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS):

• Provide peer-oriented individual and group counseling
• May assist with recreational and leisure activities
• Responsible for fostering a safe, motivating and supportive environment
• Encourage and model the philosophy of recovery and empowerment through CRSS principals

Requirements

of the Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS):

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• CRSS (Certified Recovery Support Specialist) credential preferred

-or-

• MHP with personal experience with psycho-social rehabilitation services, psychiatric disorders, and/or developmental disorders in a long term care setting
• Personal substance abuse rehabilitation experience also acceptable, but must be in conjunction with psychiatric rehabilitation experience in an appropriate setting
