Schedule and Compensation

● Part-time weekday schedule based on surgical volume.

● No routine nights, weekends, holidays, or overnight call.

● Competitive hourly compensation.

● Four-hour minimum compensation once the CRNA reports for a scheduled clinical shift.

● Paid mandatory orientation, meetings, emergency drills, and administrative responsibilities.

● Compensation for extended clinical days, as applicable.

● Designated administrative hours included in the part-time W-2 position.

● Benefits offered in accordance with applicable plan eligibility requirements.

● Anticipated transition to full-time employment as surgical volume grows.

Position Summary

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) provides anesthesia and anesthesia-related care to appropriate adult patients undergoing cosmetic surgery at The Drainless Aesthetic Institute’s on-site surgical facility.

The CRNA practices in accordance with Georgia law, Georgia Board of Nursing requirements, professional standards, facility policies, credentialing and privileging requirements, and the anesthesia care structure adopted by the facility.

Following approval through the facility’s documented credentialing and privileging process, the CRNA may provide general anesthesia using endotracheal intubation or a supraglottic airway, including a laryngeal mask airway (LMA), as well as monitored anesthesia care and deep sedation, as appropriate and within granted privileges.

Essential Clinical Responsibilities

● Perform and document pre-anesthetic assessments, including reviews of medical history, anesthesia-related risk factors, laboratory results, and other relevant testing.

● Participate in determining patient readiness and suitability for anesthesia.

● Develop and implement individualized anesthesia plans within authorized practice requirements and granted privileges.

● Provide induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.

● Manage the patient’s airway and monitor physiologic status throughout anesthesia.

● Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and anesthesia-related complications.

● Maintain complete and accurate anesthesia records, including medications, dosages, administration times, monitoring, interventions, and significant clinical events.

● Participate in post-anesthesia care, including safe PACU handoff and anesthesia-related discharge assessment.

● Participate in emergency-response and patient-transfer protocols.

● Perform and document required pre-use and daily checks of the anesthesia machine, oxygen, suction, airway equipment, emergency medications, and rescue equipment.

Qualified vendors will perform preventive maintenance in accordance with manufacturer and accreditation requirements.

● Ensure that appropriate airway, emergency, and rescue equipment is readily available.

● Follow facility medication-security procedures.

● Complete shift-level controlled-substance documentation, secure handling, witnessed wastage, counts, and reconciliation in accordance with facility policy. The Medical

Director and facility DEA registrants retain ultimate responsibility for inventory oversight.

● Collaborate with surgeons, the Surgical RN, Nurse Manager, Scrub Technician, and other members of the perioperative team.

● Participate in emergency-preparedness drills, staff education, quality-improvement activities, and clinical reviews.

● Maintain all required licenses, certifications, credentials, continuing education, and clinical competencies.

● Perform other anesthesia-related duties consistent with applicable law, professional standards, facility policy, and granted privileges.

Leadership and Program-Development Responsibilities

● Lead the development and implementation of anesthesia policies, procedures, protocols, and standardized workflows.

● Develop standards for pre-anesthesia assessment, patient selection, informed consent, anesthesia documentation, PACU handoff, and anesthesia-related discharge.

● Help establish protocols for general anesthesia, monitored anesthesia care, airway management, postoperative nausea and vomiting, pain management, and emergency

response.

● Develop checklists for anesthesia machines, oxygen, suction, airway equipment, medications, and emergency equipment.

● Help establish medication-security and controlled-substance procedures, including documentation, witnessed wastage, inventory management, reconciliation, and

discrepancy reporting.

● Assist with selecting anesthesia equipment, medications, supplies, and vendors.

● Monitor anesthesia medication and supply utilization to promote patient safety and responsible cost control.

● Establish difficult-airway and emergency-rescue readiness standards.

● Support malignant-hyperthermia preparedness and emergency-transfer planning.

● Participate in emergency drills, staff education, and competency validation.

● Lead anesthesia-related quality-improvement initiatives.

● Review anesthesia outcomes, adverse events, transfers, cancellations, and other quality indicators.

● Assist with AAAHC accreditation readiness and ongoing compliance related to anesthesia and perioperative care.

● Support the credentialing and onboarding of future anesthesia providers.

● Help establish backup anesthesia coverage and scheduling processes.

● Participate in leadership meetings and interdisciplinary operational planning.

● Promote a culture of patient safety, professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

● Minimum of three years of CRNA practice experience.

● Experience in office-based or ambulatory surgery, including practice without immediate access to hospital resources.

● Current, unrestricted Georgia Registered Nurse license.

● Current authorization to practice as a CRNA through the Georgia Board of Nursing.

● Current national CRNA certification or recertification.

● Graduation from an appropriately accredited nurse-anesthesia educational program.

● Current BLS and ACLS certifications.

● Demonstrated competency in adult anesthesia.

● Strong airway-management and emergency-response skills.

● Strong anesthesia documentation practices.

● Experience with prolonged elective outpatient procedures.

● Ability to develop policies, protocols, workflows, and quality systems.

● Ability to work collaboratively within a physician-led surgical environment.

● Ability to satisfy all facility credentialing and privileging requirements.

● No current exclusions, license restrictions, or material disciplinary actions.

● Successful completion of required background screening and drug testing.

PALS certification is not required because the facility serves adult patients only.

Preferred Qualifications

● Five or more years of independent CRNA practice experience.

● Plastic or cosmetic surgery anesthesia experience. This is strongly preferred but not required for candidates with substantial independent outpatient general-anesthesia

experience.

● Experience with prolonged elective cosmetic surgery procedures.

● Experience developing anesthesia protocols, workflows, quality systems, and emergency procedures for a new surgical facility.

Startup Expectations

As a clinical and operational leader, the CRNA will help establish anesthesia workflows, medication controls, equipment standards, emergency protocols, documentation standards, and quality systems as The Drainless Aesthetic Institute’s surgical operations grow.

Physical Requirements and Occupational Exposure

The position may require:

● Prolonged standing and continuous patient monitoring.

● Handling anesthesia and emergency equipment.

● Assisting with patient positioning and emergency response.

● Exposure to blood, body fluids, sharps, medications, anesthetic agents and gases, surgical smoke, infectious materials, and other occupational hazards associated with

perioperative care.
