This is an opportunity to engage directly with students who require specialized academic support, helping them in reaching their educational objectives through strategic intervention and evidence-based instruction.

As a SETSS provider with Knowledge Road, you will deliver individualized and small-group instruction in school settings, collaborating closely with families and school teams to support student advancement and academic growth.

Responsibilities

As a Special Education Teacher (SETSS) with Knowledge Road, you will:

  • Offer high-quality, individualized, and small-group instruction to students with disabilities, according to their Individualized Education Service Programs (IESP).

  • Ensure completion of each student's weekly IESP requirements and maintain an intervention schedule aligned to the school timetable.

  • Prepare and submit quarterly progress reports and maintain bi-weekly family communication with clear updates on progress and next steps.

  • Create and implement engaging and effective lesson plans that address the specific academic, social, and emotional needs of each student.

  • Collaboratively work with parents, teachers, and other school staff to build a supportive and inclusive learning environment for your students.

  • Track and evaluate student progress, providing ongoing updates to families and school based teams.

  • Engage in IESP meetings as needed, contributing valuable insights and recommendations to promote student success.

Qualifications

  • NYS Students with Disabilities (B-2, 1-6, 7-12, or All Grades) or NYS Literacy Specialist.

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Must not have been employed by NYC DOE within the last 12 months.

  • Experience teaching Math and ELA.

  • Reliable transportation.

  • NYC DOE fingerprinting status/approval is required, or a readiness to obtain them before starting.
