Certified Substance Abuse Counselor-Supervisee

Do you have a bachelor's degree and an interest in becoming a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor?

Current position opening is for our IOP-Intensive Outpatient Program. 

The ideal candidate would work dayshift hours Wednesdays and Saturdays

Two additional days a week being more flexible

We are looking for a few qualified individuals who have a heart for helping women in recovery from addiction to work in our Abingdon location.  Must have a bachelor's degree with coursework in a Human Services field. Our Certified Substance Abuse Counselors lead groups, manage a caseload to link/refer individuals to services in the community and work as part of an interdisciplinary team to help residents in their journey to recovery.  
Fairview Housing's Mended Women Lifestyle Recovery in Abingdon provides low intensity residential treatment to women in recovery from addiction. 

We are looking for a candidate that has:

• Effective problem solving and decision-making skills


• Effective written and oral communication skills


• Ability to work with other agency personnel


• Effective interpersonal skills.  


• Ability to intervene in crisis situations and support staff in navigating these crises successfully


• Willingness to work flexible hours when needed. 


• Effective organizational and time management skills. 
  


• Bachelor's degree with coursework in a Human Services field


• Valid Driver's License
  


• Background check & Drug screen required
