JOB RESPONSIBILITIES-

Certified Surgical First Assistant - Cardiovascular Operating Room

CSFA - CVOR

Full-Time

Certified Surgical First Assistant candidates for the Cardiovascular Operating Room will have the following job responsibilities:

• The Certified Surgical Technologist Surgical First Assistant (CSTFA) - CVOR provides aid in exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions, including saphenous vein harvesting, that will help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient.

Certified Surgical First Assistant candidates for the Cardiovascular Operating Room must meet the following minimum job qualifications:

• Current Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by an accredited agency.
• Current Certification as Surgical First Assistant through a nationally accredited certification agency.
• High School Diploma
• BLS certification required
• Current acute clinical care experience preferred
• Current experience in Surgery as a CSTFA
• Current experience in CVOR and vein harvesting
• CVOR requires open heart and cardiovascular experience
• Shift: 4-10 Hour Shifts OR 3-12 Hour Shifts (depending on department needs)
• CSTFA Certification required
• · Cardiothoracic experience is okay as long as the candidate has done open heart cases
• · On Call requirement is 1 day a week and 1 weekend per month
