Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technologist to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the operating room (OR) by providing essential support during surgical procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of aseptic techniques, medical terminology, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments and supplies are available and functioning.
• Assist surgeons and other medical personnel during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and other necessary items.
• Perform data collection and documentation related to surgical procedures, including maintaining accurate records of instruments used.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures throughout the surgical process.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to facilitate effective communication and coordination before, during, and after surgeries.
• Participate in patient care within an ambulatory surgery center setting, including assisting with pre-operative and post-operative tasks.
• Maintain knowledge of current practices in acute care settings, pediatrics, emergency medicine, and other relevant areas.

Experience

• Years of Experience: 2 year(s)
• Certifications: BLS, NBSTSA
• Skills: Exp. with all ages, Inpatient, Trauma, Scrub, Aseptic Technique, ENT, General, Ortho, Ortho/Spine, Urology, Endo/Laparoscopic, Vascular, Thoracic, Neuro, Gyn, Neuro/Spine.
• 3-4 rating in Ophthalmology - strong in Vascular/Neuro and Robotics
• Strong understanding of medical terminology related to surgical procedures.
• Experience with suture techniques and handling various surgical instruments is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique practices is critical for maintaining patient safety.
