Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) Certified Surgical Technologist ( CST )

As a CVOR CST you will:

• Scrub for vascular and endovascular surgery and assist with open repairs and percutaneous approaches.

• Prepare surgical supplies and equipment for scheduled and emergency procedures


• 
  

  Assist in prepping patients, including cleansing and draping surgical sites

  
  


• 
  

  Work closely with surgeons and the surgical team during procedures

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain accurate instrument and sharps counts

  
  


• 
  

  Handle surgical specimens for lab processing

  
  


• 
  

  Apply post-procedure dressings and/or casts as needed

  
  

A few must-haves for CSTs in the CVOR:

• 
  

  Active CST license in the state of Indiana-  facility will NOT accept TS-C or grandfather situations

  
  


• 
  

  Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association

  
  


• 
  

  2+ years of recent CVOR surgical tech experience

  
  


• 
  

  Must be able to scrub hearts and non-CVOR cases (ortho and general) 

  
  


• 
  

  Must be okay with being On-Call, as it is required 

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to stay calm under pressure and work both independently and as part of a team

  
  


• 
  

  Proficiency in basic vital signs and medication administration
