Certified Welders

GovFirst is seeking to hire multiple Certified Welders to support our engineering and maintenance opportunities in various locations of Virginia which includes Bristol, Fredericksburg, Hampton Roads, Norfolk, Newport News, Suffolk, Surry, Salem, Lynchburg, Staunton, Culpeper & Richmond, VA within the Transportation Operations Division.

• Provide general certified welding services in the field, mechanical shops, or power plants.
  

• Plan and supervise fabrication of metal structures and equipment repair.
  

• Employ a variety of welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, electronic/carbon arc, oxyacetylene torch, plasma torch, wire, and stick welding.
  

• Utilize advanced knowledge of metals, alloys, welding equipment, metallurgical properties, and structural principles.
  

• Ensure adherence to AWS Bridge Welding Code D1.5 standards.
  

• Operate and maintain various welding tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  

• Collaborate with project teams to meet deadlines and quality standards.
  

Requirements

• AWS-certified welder in accordance with Bridge Welding Code D1.5.
  

• CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) required.
  

• Advanced knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and structural principles.
  

• Experience in planning, fabrication, and equipment repair in industrial or transportation settings.
  

• Ability to safely operate and maintain various welding tools and equipment.
  

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
