Certified Welding Inspector

Job Title: Certified Welding Inspector
Pay: $26–$31/hr DOE
Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–3:30 PM(Potential Saturdays; hours may vary based on workload)
Job Type: Temp to Hire
Location: Tulsa, OK

Responsibilities:

• Perform visual inspections of welds for compliance with applicable codes (e.g., AWS, ASME, API) and project specifications.
• Verify proper welding procedures, materials, and techniques are being used.
• Review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ).
• Conduct weld inspections using NDT methods such as magnetic particle, dye penetrant, ultrasonic, or radiographic testing.
• Document inspection results, issue non-conformance reports, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Collaborate with welders, supervisors, engineers, and clients to resolve welding-related issues.
• Maintain inspection records, reports, and compliance documentation.
• Monitor and enforce safety and quality standards on job sites or in the fabrication shop.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 3–5 years of welding inspection experience in industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of welding codes, metallurgy, and NDT techniques.
• Proficient in reading blueprints, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspection tasks efficiently.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to maneuver in a shop or yard assembly environment.
• Requires extensive walking and standing, and the ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, as well as crouch, twist, and stoop.
