Description

The Chair for the Department of Communication Sciences and Oral Health (CSOH) oversees undergraduate degrees in Communication Sciences and Dental Hygiene, an online master’s degree in Education of the Deaf, and a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (with two distance venues with a focus on health care and school-based settings as well as a traditional on-campus program). Also offered are post-baccalaureate certificates in Bilingual Speech-Language Pathology and Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

The PhD program offers emphasis options in Health Studies or Special Education. Housed in the College of Health Sciences, the department has over 25 full-time tenured, tenure-track, and clinical faculty members who work together alongside 10 staff members to support the missions of the programs, department, and university. The Chair supports faculty member engagement in a variety of research and teaching efforts, as they also provide clinical supervision in our three clinics (the Dental Hygiene
