Job Summary:
The Chassis Check-in Person is responsible for inspecting, verifying, and recording the condition of chassis equipment upon arrival at the facility. The role involves conducting visual inspections, logging data, and ensuring that all chassis meet safety and operational standards. The position requires attention to detail, knowledge of chassis specifications, and the ability to document and communicate discrepancies effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspection: Perform thorough visual and functional inspections of chassis to identify any damages, defects, or wear.
Documentation: Accurately record the condition of each chassis upon check-in, noting any issues or concerns.
Coordination: Communicate with supervisors, logistics teams, and maintenance staff to ensure that all chassis are in optimal condition before being used for transportation.
Data Entry: Use electronic systems or manual logs to track the status of chassis, updating records with relevant information (e.g., damage, repairs, or service status).
Quality Control: Ensure that all chassis adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Problem Resolution: Identify and report any discrepancies or issues with the chassis to the appropriate personnel for repair or replacement.
Customer Service: Interact professionally with drivers, technicians, and other staff members, providing updates and support when necessary.
Maintain Equipment: Keep the check-in area organized, clean, and free of hazards
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in automotive or mechanical fields is a plus.
Experience: Previous experience in logistics, vehicle inspection, or a similar role is preferred.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Good communication skills for interacting with team members and external parties.
Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes physically demanding environment.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive motions as required for chassis inspection
Work Environment:
outdoor yard setting.
May require working in varying weather conditions.
