Chassis Wirer

• Read and interprets wiring diagrams and op sheets
  


• Uses color code for component identification
  


• Performs repetitive, preparatory and intermediate wiring functions on chassis, components and sub-assemblies. Perform P.C. board repairs and solder touch-up.
  


• May be required to make variety of cables and harnesses using wire boards.
  


• May check work for connections, continuity, insulation and other electrical factors using ohmmeters, computer hardware/software and other electrical test equipment.
  


• Soldering to military specification.
  


• Prepares wires and/or components by cutting to length, tinning, bonding, and attaching terminals.  
  


• Solders plugs and sockets to cable wires
  


• Identifies wires, twists, sew, ties and laces and makes simple cables.
  


• Solders and connects wires to exposed components such as resistor boards, plugs and printed circuit boards
  


• Performs non-precision mechanical assembly operations of electrical and mechanical components.
  


• Utilize all hand tools necessary for the performance of duties such as wire stripper, pliers, tweezers, soldering iron, etc.
  

Requirements

• 2 plus years wiring experience
  


• Some soldering experience
