Description
Under the supervision of the Packaging Supervisor, Packaging Team Members are responsible for packing individual finished good units into required packaging material noted on the bill of materials based on customer requirements. This will have included (not limited to) retail cartons, bulk cartons, master cases, and filling bulk containers. Packaging Team Members ensure that all food safety, quality assurance, and GMP policies and procedures are strictly adhered to during the production of finished goods within the manufacturing facility. Packers must have the ability to perform all packer responsibilities on multiple production lines with limited supervision.
Requirements
Education and/or Experience
Requires High School diploma or GED and/or equivalent industry knowledge. Advanced knowledge and experience of food or dairy manufacturing a plus.
Language Skills
Ability to speak, read and write in English.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.

This position may require constant use of hands or fingers to effectively use a computer keyboard. In an instance where a physical inventory or an evaluation of ingredient or packaging quality is required, the Processing Team Member may be required to lift or move up to 50LB. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Food plant environment. May require some travel. Must have valid driver’s license or valid form of ID.
