MWC is a state of the art cheese and whey production facility in St. Johns, MI. MWC is a joint venture between Glanbia Nutritionals, Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) and Select Milk Producers Inc. (Select).
Job Summary
Ensure that all environmental cleaning assigned to positions is completed.
Essential Functions
Responsible for the total operation of the sanitation shifts. Supported by Shift Production Manager
Ensures adherence to sanitation schedule
Ensures completion of periodic equipment and infrastructural cleaning
Responsible for completed chemical checks and ensuring that the information is recorded in the computer
Coordinate with Quality to provide verification & validation on product contact surfaces prior to starting operations
Understands the use and importance of PPE
Working knowledge of each chemical used in the cheese plant including how to use and when to use
Working knowledge of all CIP circuits and what is washed by each circuit
Monitors CIP to ensure proper operation
Able to perform Titration testing on all chemicals used in Cheese plant cleaning activities as determined by the chemical supplier
Able to perform Titration testing on foot foamers
Ability to disassemble tank vents and clean with acid
Cleans around CIP tank manhole openings, the inside of the door and door gasket
Cleans outside of tanks and platform and inspects for leaks
Identifies soiled CIP tanks and performs a tank dump
Ability to CIP the CIP supply tanks
Identifies leaks and/or losses and begins corrective actions
Respirator training and certification
Working knowledge of all sanitation cleaning tasks
Replenish Enforse and acid
Replenish footbath chemicals
Foam area around foot foamers
Refill hand sanitizers
Culture freezers wipe down tops
Culture room sweep & mop
Culture room pick-up area
Sweep salt room
Inspect CIP Centers for leaks at pumps, valves, etc
Foam vacuum pump room floors and clean drain pans
Foam 2000 CIP Room (floor)
Foam 3000, 4000 CIP (floor)
Sanitize all water hose nozzles
Titrate doorway sanitizers
Cleans Cheese offices
Responsible for deep cleaning of the cheese area
Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses, and upholds the culture of MWC non-negotiables.
Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act, which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)

Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiply projects simultaneously, and delegate assignments to others.
Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources

Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
Involves moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily product/technical nature.
Should be able to identify and distinguish colors, see clearly at 20 inches or closer and 20 feet or more, observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point, judge distances and spatial relationships, and adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
Typical Environmental Conditions
May be exposed to loud noise levels (i.e. manufacturing equipment).
May be exposed to humidity, intense heat, and areas with possible air contamination, fumes and toxic chemicals.
May work in areas with mechanical moving parts, above ground with risk of fall, or areas with risk of electrical shock.
Travel Requirements
Minimal travel limited within the local area.
