THE ROLE

Chetola Resort is seeking an experienced and visionary Chef de Cuisine to lead our culinary team at Timberlake’s Restaurant. In this senior leadership role, you will oversee kitchen operations, drive menu creativity, and mentor culinary staff while ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate culinary leader who thrives in an upscale resort environment and is eager to shape the next era of Chetola’s dining program.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Culinary Leadership & Menu Innovation

  • Lead the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring excellence in food quality, preparation, and presentation
  • Develop seasonal menus and specials in collaboration with the Executive Chef, highlighting regional flavors and fresh ingredients
  • Uphold high culinary standards that align with Chetola’s reputation for refined hospitality

Team Development & Culture

  • Train, mentor, and inspire a team of sous chefs, line cooks, and prep staff
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional kitchen culture
  • Oversee scheduling, staffing, and performance management for the culinary team

Operational Excellence

  • Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships to ensure cost control and efficiency
  • Track food cost, minimize waste, and drive profitability while maintaining quality
  • Partner with front-of-house leadership to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce strict sanitation, safety, and food-handling procedures in compliance with health regulations
  • Ensure proper storage, rotation, and labeling of all food products
  • Model and instill best practices in all aspects of kitchen operations

Requirements

ABOUT YOU

  • A passionate and creative culinary professional with strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experienced in leading high-volume, high-quality resort or fine dining operations
  • Driven by a love for hospitality, with a guest-first mindset
  • Calm, organized, and solutions-focused under pressure

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5 years of culinary leadership experience, preferably in a resort or upscale restaurant environment
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams while managing operational budgets
  • Serve Safe Certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business demands
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, stand, and move for extended periods
