BR&T is looking for a

Chemical Contamination Materials Engineer

based out of

Berkeley, Missouri Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate or Mid-Level Engineers.

This position requires the candidate to be able to receive a security clearance from the US Government and additional access as well. There are things that prevent candidates from being able to receive the necessary clearance and access, like not being a US Citizen, holding dual citizenship with another country, having legal issues in the past, or having foreign contacts from certain countries.

Position Responsibilities:

Confirming engineering and production methods meet contractual requirements and program intentions
Leading the program transition away from chromated organic finishes
Collects information to support definition of requirements for materials, parts and processes used in the manufacture and engineering design of products
Incorporates changes to specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of materials, parts and processes
Performs tests to qualify new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements
Assists with activities to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements and to respond to supplier issues and questions
Conducts basic analysis to determine performance or reasons for failures of tools, materials, parts or processes
Assists in implementing corrective and preventive actions
Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements
Incorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research, design and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas
Assist program safety team with hazardous materials analysis and reporting to customer
Additional Job Responsibilities:

• Analytical Skills (Technical)

Skill and ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
• Contamination Control Principle

Knowledge of contamination control principles that enable the translation of end item system requirements into contamination control plans and the ability to oversee and verify implementation
• Corrosion Principles

Knowledge of corrosion principles (such as crevice, stress, dissimilar metals)
• Engineering Drawings and Specs

Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design)
• Environmental Health and Safety

Knowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various Environmental Health and Safety Sciences. Knowledge of the relationship between Environmental Health and Safety Sciences (e.g., radiation physics, toxicology, industrial hygiene, etc.) and how their processes affect one another and impact non-science processes (e.g., Operations, Logistics, Business, etc.)
• Fuels and Lubricants

Knowledge of aircraft fuels and lubricants (e.g., greases or dry film)
• Inorganic Chemical Processing

Knowledge of inorganic chemical processing (such as chromic acid anodizing, phosphoric acid anodizing, sulfuric acid anodizing, etching, plating)
• Materials Engr Principles

Ability to apply knowledge of materials engineering and scientific principles to develop, design, analyze, test, and validate solutions for complex systems, sub-systems and designs
• Organic Chemical Processing

Knowledge of organic chemical processes (such as top coating, priming, surface cleaning).
• Test Program Design

Knowledge of test program design (e.g., design of experiments, test plan development, validation)

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

5+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, Chemistry or other related engineering/science disciplines
Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (Level 2):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-Level (Level 3):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range Associate Level: $77,350 - $104,650

Summary pay range Mid-Level: $95,200 - $128,800
