Job Description - Chief, Adolescent Health Section HEALTH PROGRAM MANAGER II

Job Description and Duties

This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by promoting health and wellness, incorporating health equity strategies in programs and practices, and mobilizing partnerships to strengthen collective impact. The position serves as part of a team that implements local and statewide programs and policies to improve the health and well-being of mothers, infants, children, children and youth with special health care needs, adolescents, and families.
The incumbent works under the Staff Services Manager III, Chief of the Child and Adolescent Health Branch. The Health Program Manager II (HPM II) is responsible for supervision of a multidisciplinary team, program operations and implementation, and grants and contract management for the Adolescent Health (AH) Section. This Section includes the Adolescent Sexual Health Education Unit and the Adolescent Family Life Program Unit and the HPM II will oversee programs such as the Information and Education (I&E) Program, the CA Personal Responsibility Education Program (CA PREP), and Adolescent Health Initiatives.
