About the Role
The Chief Compliance Officer is a key leadership role responsible for supporting the effective and efficient management of the district's budget, operations, and human resources services. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in education, human resources, business, or a related field, with a Master's Degree preferred, and a minimum of 5 years of management experience in a social service or compliance-related role. Experience in leading diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in educational settings is also highly valued. The Chief Compliance Officer will be tasked with developing and maintaining compliance programs to ensure adherence to State and Federal laws, as well as preventing illegal, unethical, or improper conduct. This includes collaborating with agencies, analyzing data, and producing performance reports. The role also involves supporting the superintendent in communication, addressing compliance concerns, and providing leadership team development.Essential job duties for the Chief Compliance Officer include collaborating with HR and related departments to address compliance issues, supporting the superintendent in monitoring compliance activities and HR training and demonstrating a commitment to equity initiatives. The officer will also be responsible for partnering with agencies to identify compliance vulnerabilities and developing corrective action plans, as well as maintaining a working knowledge of compliance-related laws and guidelines. Strategic planning, incident prevention, and quality oversight of departmental work are also part of the role. The officer will train staff in creating a work environment focused on student success, make evidence-based decisions to impact student behavior positively and serve as a resource for discrimination, harassment, and Title IX issues. Additionally, the officer will be involved in gathering and analyzing data for reporting to meet federal and state requirements and will have operational oversight of all programs and their budgets.
