Chief Content Officer

Description

The Chief Content Officer (CCO) leads the unified content strategy across all print, digital, and public media properties within the Pennon Organization. This executive role is responsible for driving editorial excellence, leveraging audience insights, and ensuring alignment between content creation and organizational goals. The CCO integrates data-driven decision-making with creative vision to deliver compelling, mission-aligned content that engages diverse audiences and supports Pennon’s growth. 

Requirements

•   Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy across digital, print, and public media platforms.
   
• Ensure content and programming are community-centered and guided by audience data to support growth.
   
• Lead innovation in storytelling through the use of multimedia and emerging formats.
   
• Expand public media offerings through partnerships with external producers and collaborators.
   
• Strengthen community engagement by leveraging internal resources and strategic outreach.
   
• Oversee alignment and integration of programming and editorial campaigns across platforms.
   
• Collaborate with marketing and digital teams to enhance content distribution and reach.
   
• Establish and monitor performance metrics to ensure content is responsive to audience needs and organizational goals.
   
• Lead, manage, and support editorial, production, and programming teams across divisions.
   
• Participate in strategic planning to ensure content initiatives align with broader organizational priorities.
   
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of Pennon’s mission and growth.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

Education and/or Experience:  Requires a Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of experience in content strategy and creation and at least 5 years in a leadership role. 

Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have Microsoft Office knowledge and content software and services.
