Chief Engineer

Location: Huntsville, AL

Position Summary

As Chief Engineer at Created Solutions, you will lead technical innovation and execution across a diverse portfolio of cutting-edge projects. This highly collaborative, fast-paced role involves designing and delivering advanced engineering solutions to meet critical customer needs. You will mentor teams, manage technical risks, and ensure the successful execution of complex projects while driving technological innovation and excellence.

Our Chief Engineer plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of defense and aerospace technologies, turning challenging problems into innovative solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen with an Active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one.


• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field (Master’s degree preferred).


• Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering leadership, including systems integration and cradle-to-grave project management.


• Demonstrated ability to manage and inspire teams to achieve exceptional results.


• Proven expertise in hypersonics, advanced materials, manufacturing, software development, or systems engineering.


• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical solutions to diverse audiences.


• Experience leading proposal efforts and securing new business opportunities.


• Ability to prioritize and manage competing requests from multiple customers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Project and Program management proposal, initiation, sustainment, and close-out experience.


• Experience working with DoD agencies such as DARPA, NASA, Army, Navy, Airforce, National Labs, or MDA.


• Familiarity with advanced/composite materials, nuclear engineering, or hypersonic flight systems.


• Strong connections within the defense community.

• Lead the technical development of complex engineering solutions from concept through delivery.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware, software, testing, and manufacturing processes.


• Mentor and inspire engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.


• Interface with customers and leadership to communicate progress, address challenges, and align technical solutions with strategic goals.


• Ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.


• Identify and mitigate technical risks to ensure the successful delivery of high-value end products.
