Chief Engineer

We are seeking a Chief Engineer to lead our hotel’s engineering and maintenance team. This position is both hands-on and management focused — the Chief Engineer will perform technical maintenance tasks while also overseeing a small team, managing projects, and driving preventive maintenance programs.

What You’ll Do

• 
  

  Lead, train, and supervise a small maintenance team

  
  


• 
  

  Assign daily tasks and hold team accountable to performance and safety standards

  
  


• 
  

  Perform hands-on maintenance and preventative work in guest rooms, public areas, and hotel systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)

  
  


• 
  

  Manage capital projects and coordinate with outside vendors/contractors

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain the pool, fitness center, and all public spaces to brand standards

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure grounds, parking lot, sidewalks, and exterior areas are clean and safe (trash, landscaping, snow/ice removal)

  
  


• 
  

  Implement a preventive maintenance program and keep accurate records

  
  


• 
  

  Partner with Housekeeping and Front Office to resolve guest concerns quickly

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

  
  

What We’re Looking For

• 
  

  High School Diploma/GED required; technical training or certification preferred

  
  


• 
  

  3–5 years of maintenance/engineering experience (hotel experience a plus)

  
  


• 
  

  1–2 years of supervisory or leadership experience

  
  


• 
  

  Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems

  
  


• 
  

  Hands-on, motivated, and able to balance technical work with leadership

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform physical work
