Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of all building systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
- Supervise and manage technical staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability.
- Monitor and manage energy efficiency initiatives to reduce operational costs.
- Establish and maintain operational testing schedules for critical building systems.
- Manage and oversee contracted maintenance services when external vendors are required.
- Maintain regular communication with building management and key stakeholders regarding facility operations and improvements.
- Ensure proper inventory control for materials, tools, and equipment needed for maintenance and repairs.
- Utilize work order systems to track, assign, and document maintenance activities.
- Develop and manage operating budgets related to maintenance and engineering.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Establish and enforce performance standards and best practices for facility operations.
- Promote a culture of safety and operational excellence within the engineering team.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in facility maintenance, operations, or engineering management.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Experience managing technical teams and maintenance personnel.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with building automation systems.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, LEED, OSHA).
- Experience with energy conservation and sustainability programs.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to building operations.
- Experience managing operations across multiple facilities or large-scale properties.
- Familiarity with work order and asset management software.
