Chief Estimator

The Weitz Company is hiring a Chief Estimator to lead our estimation department for our Florida business unit in West Palm Beach, FL.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead the estimating department


• Be responsible for effectively presenting and communicating construction milestone budgets to owners, architects, and Weitz team members


• Be accountable for estimate accuracy, risk analysis, consistency of data, and development/maintenance of historical cost data


• Stay current on best practices, economic trends, technological innovations that impact construction estimation


• Reduce the risk to The Weitz Company and the client by ensuring that all project estimates are subjected to the appropriate management review


• Provide a thorough understanding of all budgets and estimates and how they were developed, including trade pricing, productivity, and overall risk analysis


• Foster employee engagement and effectively manage a team and provide training and professional development opportunities


• Ensure excellent customer service is delivered on all projects


• Review current standards and processes to identify areas for process improvement and implement a plan to make adjustments

What We’re Looking For:

  • 10+ years of experience in construction estimating
  
  
  • Experience with conceptual estimating
