Overview:
Albino Construction is seeking a highly skilled and experienced High-End Residential Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team in Los Angeles. We have been building luxury homes on the west side of Los Angeles for over three decades. Our mission is to build beautiful and lasting homes. The ideal Estimator candidate possesses a strong background in estimating luxury residential projects, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a keen understanding of construction costs, materials, labor, and market trends specific to high-end residential construction in the Los Angeles area.
Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation:

Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for high-end residential construction projects, including new builds, renovations, and remodels with or without plans.

Material Takeoffs:

Conduct thorough material takeoffs and quantify required materials based on project specifications and drawings.

Labor Analysis:

Analyze labor requirements for various construction tasks and calculate associated costs.

Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination:

Obtain competitive bids from vendors and subcontractors, negotiate pricing, and coordinate subcontractor agreements.

Budget Management:

Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to develop project budgets and ensure cost control throughout the construction process.

Value Engineering:

Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative materials or methods without compromising quality or design integrity.

Market Research:

Stay informed about local construction market trends, material costs, and labor rates to accurately assess project costs.

Bid Preparation:

Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, including detailed cost breakdowns and pricing schedules, for submission to clients and stakeholders.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and project-related documentation for future reference and analysis.

Collaboration:

Work closely with architects, designers, engineers, subcontractors, and other project team members to review plans, specifications, and project requirements.

Systems Creation:

Develop new estimating and bidding systems and processes to drive efficiency and excellence.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in high-end residential construction estimating, preferably in the Los Angeles area.

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Strong knowledge of construction costs, building codes, and industry standards.

Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Procore, Sage Estimating, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Effective communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.

Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment.

Proficiency in English and Spanish preferred considering the diverse nature of our team and subcontractors.

Work Hours & Probationary Period
Hours:

Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 4:00pm PT at our Culver City office.

Probationary Period:

New employees undergo a 90-day probationary period, subject to management’s discretion for extension or reduction. During this period, the employee will have an opportunity to meet the position expectations set forth in the job description and meet management’s specific goals and objectives.
