Chief Executive Officer - Hendry Regional Medical Center

At the direction and control of

Hendry Regional Medical Center's

governing board, the CEO will provide administrative oversight to all business, administrative and executive functions of the hospital, consistent with and subject to the policies, procedures and objectives of the hospital’s governing board and subject at all times to the governing board’s ultimate authority and approval.

Clewiston, FL

area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops, with the assistance from appropriate hospital personnel and governing board members, short and long range administrative and organization plans to define responsibilities and business activities consistent with hospital goals and objectives.
Develops, with the assistance from appropriate hospital personnel and governing board members, an annual administrative plan, and a financial plan for the hospital, subject to the authority and control of the hospital's governing board.
Assists the governing board and hospital's legal counsel in negotiation of professional service contracts. All such contracts at all times being subject to final review and approval by the hospital's governing board. Approves performance appraisals and wage modifications, reviews and resolves employee grievances and make suggestions as appropriate.
Maintains administrative responsibility for physicians both inside and outside the hospital subject to the ultimate responsibility and control of the governing board.
Act as a liaison among the hospital's governing board any advisory boards, its medical staff and the various hospital

departments. Participates

in various meetings with such groups to provide pertinent information related to the hospital operations and fiscal

affairs. Facilitates

resolution of questions and problems relating to hospital operations.
Keep apprised of public policy, economic developments, and public opinions as they may pertain to the hospitals organizational

goals. Participates

in hospital associations and healthcare professional organizations.
Directs the conduct of the CFO's office and related financial operations to ensure implementation of the hospital's fiscal business plan. Reviews and approves all financial reports, budgets, and major expenditures, subject to the ultimate authority and control of the hospital's governing board.
Oversees the efforts of hospital personnel to maintain accreditation standards of the Joint Commission, Medicare, Medicaid, and similar organizations.
Coordinates the efforts of the hospital's governing board, any advisory boards, medical staff, and hospital personnel to maintain hospital's quality standards through its loss control programs as may be established at the hospital.
Responsible for reporting Key Events to the QHR Compliance Hot line
Adhere/comply with Ovation Healthcare’s operating practices.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
In depth and up to date knowledge of hospital administration.
Knowledge of the healthcare field as well as refined managerial skills.
Work Experience, Education, and Certifications:
BS/BA preferred in a related field or relevant experience is required.
Travel Requirements:
Minimal
Must be willing to relocate and live within Hendry County, FL.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Conditions typically associated with an office

environment. While

performing the essential duties and responsibilities, the employee is required to talk and hear. May be frequently required to sit, stand, or walk. Moderate to prolonged reading, typing, and computer work. Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity that may include lifting up to 50 pounds. Subject to exposure to all environmental hazards associated with healthcare and office work.
Hendry Regional Medical Center is in South Central Florida in the town of Clewiston on the eastern edge of in Hendry County Florida (population of 43,000) many recreational opportunities such as golf, the finest bass fishing lake in the United Sates (Lake Okeechobee), birding, hiking, horseback riding, and hunting are all available only minutes from any of the communities in the county. Multiple cultural events such as, The Firehouse Community Theater and many festivals and fairs are held throughout the

year. Hendry

County has a broad variety of religious options available with multiple congregations from various Protestant denominations as well as two Catholic parishes located in Clewiston and

LaBelle. Clewiston

is near several major metropolitan areas for professional (football, baseball, basketball, ice hockey, and soccer) and college sporting events.
Clewiston, (population 7,200), is located on the southern shore of Lake Okeechobee. Clewiston is a 75-minute drive, west to Ft. Myers on the Gulf Coast, a 60-minute drive east to West Palm on the Atlantic Coast. Ft. Lauderdale and Miami are within a 2.0-hour drive to the southeast, and Orlando is a 2.5 hour drive north. Clewiston is ideally located to live a rural lifestyle while still having access to the amenities of the many metropolitan areas in Central Florida and on either coast.
The other major community in Hendry County is the town of LaBelle and the surrounding area of Port LaBelle, located 32 miles west of Clewiston on the western edge of Hendry County. This area (population 10,550) is the residential and governmental center for Hendry County housing the County Courthouse and municipal buildings as well as other governmental services.
Hendry County operates a County wide public school system; there are also private school options available within the County. Hendry County houses a satellite campus of Florida Southwestern College in the town of LaBelle. There are other Colleges and Universities located on either Coast with a large number of students commuting from the Hendry County area for classes on a daily basis.
Many convenient options for air travel out of Miami International, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach International, Southwest International in Fort Myers, and Punta Gorda exist with multiple major and lost cost airlines serving one or more of these facilities.
