Description
The CFO Directs the organization's financial planning and accounting practices as well as its relationship with lending institutions, shareholders, and the financial community. Provides leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, accounting and budgeting efforts of the bank. Develops and maintains tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO.

Summary: Directs the organization's financial planning and accounting practices as well as its relationship with lending institutions, shareholders, and the financial community. Provides leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, accounting and budgeting efforts of the bank. Develops and maintains tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the Board and CEO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes but is not limited to the following:
· Oversees and directs the accounting function of the Bank to include; financial reporting, investments, cash management, borrowings, fixed assets, and accounts payable.
· Manages the insurance relationships and policy coverage for the Bank.
· Manages and directs procedures and computer applications necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services.
· As the investment officer prepares pre-purchase analyses, monitors cash flow, approves security purchases/sales and serves as Chairman of the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) reporting and meetings.
· Works with the Bank’s investment advisor in the management of investment activities. A strong investment background is preferred.
· Coordinates the preparation of the quarterly ALM and interest rate risk reporting.
· Appraises the organization's financial position and issues periodic reports on organization's financial stability, liquidity, and growth. Including the Call report, board reporting, UBPR report and regulatory filings.
· Reviews and monitors the general ledger daily.
· Directs, coordinates and prepares the annual budget and long-range forecasting.
· Coordinates tax preparation, reporting and payments for Federal, State, and Local taxes.
· Analyzes, consolidates, and directs all cost accounting procedures and branch profitability reporting.
· Oversees and directs the preparation and issuance of the corporation's annual and mid-year consolidated reports.
· Prepares documentation for the stock appraisal and dividend calculations.
· Directs and analyzes studies of general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the organization's policies and operations.
· Collaborates with Loan Administration in determining the allowance for credit losses.
· Evaluates and recommends business partnering opportunities and vendors.
· Serves as liaison between bank and audit firms, audit committee and regulatory agencies.
· Establishes and maintains contacts with financial institutions, investment firms, and accounting firms.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages one subordinate supervisor who supervises a total of three employees in Finance. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in Accounting preferably in the Banking Industry; or a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and comparable experience as determined by the bank. Degree must be acquired from an accredited college or university. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical and financial concepts to analyze data and determine practical solutions.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient knowledge of Bank Accounting software and Microsoft Office products to include Excel and Word.;
