Job Description - Chief Impact Officer (Hybrid) Veteran Jobs

At the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, our mission is to drive a network that provides nutritious food and pathways to self-sustainment for people facing hunger. We believe everyone–of every race, gender, sexuality, age, and income–deserves the opportunity to live their healthiest life. Today, however, there are still far too many barriers to food security which are disproportionately experienced by people of color, historically marginalized groups, and those with lower incomes. We are committed to remain on the front lines, along with our community-based partners, to provide nutritious food and resources for Oklahomans facing hunger.
A Day in the Life:
Plan, coordinate, and control the daily operation of the Community Impact (CI) department through effective leadership. This position will be accountable for the performance of the following departments:
Community Health
Community Connections
Network Management
Moore Food & Resource Center
Engage in annual budget development, following established budget approval processes set forth by the Chief Financial Officer. Deploy budgetary controls in the work of your directors, including program maintenance and new program creation. Review the financial performance of each department monthly.
Use the annual budget to establish both current and long-range strategic goals, targets, and programs that are based on historical data from Feeding America, our organization, our partners, state and the federal sources.
Manage the relationship with government partners.
Meets with the organization’s other officers to ensure there is a collaborative relationship between departments, role modeling these behaviors for the director team.
Develop and maintain a measurement strategy to guide and document the impact of the organization and the network.
Facilitate the organization’s service area assessment and operational plan required by Feeding America.
Identify potential successors for all director level positions and ensure those people are receiving the proper experience and exposure to assume the position.
Ensure that continuing education and training is a consistent part of daily interactions.
Facilitate agenda inspired, actionable meetings that produce documented results.
Communicate the long-term strategic plan of the organization and how it influences and affects daily tasks and options.
Engage with our Board of Directors both in board meetings, and one on one, to promote the work of CI.
Your Impact:
Maintain an abundance perspective and engage in strategic, state and national level partnerships to reduce hunger and poverty. Partnering with communities to make connections, develop ideas, and creating a vision for a collective impact approach to hunger, the root causes of hunger, and poverty alleviation. Partnering and communicating with other departments and executive leadership to ensure that departments are working jointly to identify overlap and partnership opportunities.
What You Need to Succeed:
Ability to work both without oversight and be a team player who will engage with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside the Regional Food Bank.
Ability to manage many tasks and projects at the same time.
Meet with the organization’s other officers to ensure there is a collaborative relationship between departments, role modeling these behaviors for the director team.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s in relevant area preferred (e.g., social work, non-profit management, public health, public administration, etc.).
7 – 10 years of professional experience and leadership with demonstrated success.
Managing budgets, grants and contracts. Experience in coaching and leading staff.
Must have valid driver’s license and maintain clean driving record.

Have the self-awareness to know about how one’s own behavior impacts others around them. Can encourage people, learn from past experiences, take on new challenges. Exceptional ability to synthesize research; has a desire to dig deeper than the surface.
