The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is responsible for setting and executing the overarching marketing and advertising strategies and initiatives to strengthen BigIron's market position and achieve business objectives across all entities. This role requires a high level of expertise in digital marketing and a deep understanding of the auction industry landscape. Essential Functions: Craft and champion the overarching marketing vision, strategy, and organizational structure to drive innovation and achieve competitive advantage. Develop and implement highly impactful marketing strategies and materials, with a primary focus on cutting-edge digital channels to maximize reach, engagement, and conversion. Spearhead the execution of dynamic marketing campaigns that align seamlessly with business objectives, generating leads, and nurturing customer relationships. Lead market research initiatives, utilizing sophisticated data analysis techniques to provide actionable insights for informed decision-making, both short-term and long-term. Manage company and seller advertising programs including creative, production, advertising sales, reporting, internal & external collateral, pricing, and budget. Foster a collaborative relationship with the sales department, ensuring alignment of marketing and sales strategies to optimize revenue generation and market penetration. Drive expansion efforts by formulating and executing tailored marketing plans that cater to diverse regional markets, leveraging insights to capitalize on emerging opportunities. Manage the marketing budget effectively, allocating resources strategically to support company objectives and maximize ROI across all initiatives. Uphold brand integrity and compliance standards across all marketing and communication channels, ensuring consistent messaging and visual identity. Conduct thorough competitor analysis to identify market trends, assess competitor strategies, and develop proactive counterstrategies to maintain a competitive edge. Recruit, mentor, and empower a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. Implement industry standard and industry leading marketing technology to support marketing and sales, reporting & tracking, and customer experience initiatives. Cultivate enduring relationships with internal stakeholders, Independent Sales Reps (ISRs), and clients, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner. Fulfill additional duties as assigned by management or necessitated by the dynamic demands of the position, demonstrating adaptability and agility in addressing evolving business needs. Develop and execute targeted B2B and B2C marketing strategies tailored to specific industry sectors and client segments, leveraging insights to effectively communicate value propositions and drive lead generation. Requirements
Previous experience in executive roles within marketplace businesses, the auction industry, or related equipment, real estate, and technology fields. Demonstrated success in implementing digital marketing strategies. Experience recruiting and developing marketing specialists. Familiarity with auction-specific marketing tactics and best practices. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM – HubSpot preferred), Google Analytics, advertising reservation systems and technology systems role in Marketing execution. Advanced degree in Marketing or related field. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in senior marketing roles. Proven track record of strategic leadership in marketing, with exceptional communication and presentation skills. Deep understanding of market research methodologies and analysis. Visionary leader with the ability to drive innovation and inspire teams. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel .
