About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to join its executive team and oversee the clinical performance and integrity of all solutions, ensuring they improve the appropriateness of care and patient outcomes, and reduce costs. The CMO will be the lead clinical spokesperson, interacting with internal and external clients, stakeholders, professional associations, governmental and regulatory agencies, and accreditation organizations. This role involves leading a team of domain expert clinicians, developing strong relationships with client CMOs and executives, and collaborating with various departments to drive innovation and improvement. The CMO will also be responsible for the Clinical Program and Solution Authoring Organization, which supports the development and maintenance of clinical guidelines and their translation into system-usable algorithms.Candidates for the CMO position must be licensed and board-certified Medical Doctors with advanced business training, such as an MPH, MBA, or similar. A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience and 10 years of progressive healthcare leadership/management experience is required. The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of the US healthcare system, including health economics, delivery, utilization management, and health insurance. Experience with clinical coding, medical informatics, EMRs, and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively lead a large team is also essential. Excellent communication skills, the ability to deliver effective presentations, and a track record of recruitment, retention, and career development are important for this role.
