Job Description - Chief Medical Officer, Interventional Oncology and Embolization
Review regulatory submissions and represent the company in interactions with regulatory agencies (e.g., U.S. Food and Drug Administration). Provide clinical expertise to guide trial design, execution, and analysis and integrate new scientific findings into the company's clinical strategies. Participate in or moderate medical education initiatives. Represent the company at scientific forums, congresses, and industry associations. Share clinical data and trial results with the scientific community. Assures that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained in order to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the BSC Quality Policy. Establishes and promotes a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System. Learn the IO&E culture and contribute positively to it with peers and reports. Lead and develop a team to achieve organizational goals. Foster a diverse and inclusive workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives. Oversee budgets and activities across areas of direct responsibility. Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O. ). 15+ years of Oncology experience across multiple modalities (e.g., medical, surgical, radiation, interventional). 10+ years in biotech, pharmaceutical, or medical device industries with a strong understanding of the commercialization of oncology therapies. Deep knowledge of global healthcare governance and oncology regulatory pathways. Strong business acumen Proven experience presenting at major oncology conferences and events. Author or co-author of peer-reviewed clinical publications. Experience in clinical trial execution Leadership roles in professional societies or academic departments. Build and leverage relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) across the oncology spectrum. Facilitate scientific collaborations with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry partners. Manage the IO&E Medical Safety team to ensure accurate adverse event reporting and benefit-risk assessments for both marketed and investigational products. Responsible, through Vice President level management, for global corporate staff functions or major divisional operations (e.g., $2B+ revenue divisions or multiple regions/plants). Define organizational structures and delegate management responsibilities. Participates as a member of the Diligence Team on any potential IO&E venture investments or acquisitions.
