Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Services - Methodist Hospital

Position Summary Statement:  

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and Vice President of patient care services at Methodist Hospital is a transformational nursing leader responsible for advancing a culture of exceptional patient care, care team safety and wellbeing, operational excellence, and clinical quality across the organization. Working in close partnership with physicians, operational leaders, and frontline teams, the CNO champions a highly engaged and inclusive workforce while driving evidence-based practices that improve patient outcomes, enhance the care experience, and ensure efficient, sustainable operations. The ideal candidate is a visible and trusted relationship builder who fosters collaboration across disciplines, inspires high-performing teams, and leads with authenticity, accountability, and a deep commitment to creating an environment where patients, families, and care team members can thrive.

Work Schedule: Primarily Monday - Friday during standard business hours. This leadership role participates in an administrative on call rotation and requires flexibility to support hospital operations outside of regular business hours as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
  • This position requires a master’s degree in Business, Nursing or Health Care Administration, and must possess either a Baccalaureate or master’s degree in Nursing.
  • Requires 5-10 years of progressive and increased relevant nursing/patient care leadership experience. 
• Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
  • This position requires a current Registered Nurse license in the State of Minnesota.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • This position requires familiarity and compliance with matters of law, regulations and internal policies affecting the employment relations (including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, and discrimination and harassment laws). 
  • Position requires working knowledge and basic proficiency with personal computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic mail. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice
• Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
  • Certification in Nursing Administration/Advanced (NEA-BC or CENP) desired.
