Position Summary: The Chief Nursing Officer is a key executive leader responsible for overseeing and directing all nursing operations and clinical services within the hospital. The role ensures high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency across multiple departments, including Dietary, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Emergency Department (ED), Surgery Center, Hospital Units, and Quality Management.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership and oversight for nursing and clinical operations, ensuring excellence in patient care.
Collaborate with department heads to enhance efficiency, safety and quality outcomes across EMS, ED, surgical services and inpatient units.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
Develop and implement policies to optimize patient experience, staff performance and operational effectiveness.
Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and clinical outcomes.
Oversee staffing, budgeting and professional development programs to support nursing and allied health teams.
Requirements:
Education: Prefer BNS or Masters in Nursing
Experience: Prefer experience in ED setting and/or surgical setting. Requires minimum of 5 years in acute care setting with 2 years of management or supervisory experience.
License: Meets requirements per ND Century Code 43-12.1
