The Vice President of Patient Care/Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) provides executive leadership and accountability for nursing practice and clinical care delivery across the campus. The VP/CNO ensures the provision of safe, high-quality, patient- and family-centered care in alignment with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and accreditation bodies.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and sustain standards of nursing practice consistent with professional, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
- Lead quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives to achieve optimal clinical and operational outcomes.
- Promote an interdisciplinary, team-based model of care that advances patient experience and clinical excellence.
- Partner with executive and medical staff leadership in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical programs and services.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and accrediting agency standards (e.g., The Joint Commission), maintaining continuous readiness.
- Oversee resource management, including staffing, workforce planning, productivity, and budget performance.
- Advance professional nursing practice through shared governance, evidence-based practice, and professional development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Serve as a key member of the campus executive team and contribute to strategic planning and execution.
- Represent nursing and clinical operations in system initiatives and committees.
- Nursing and patient care services across all clinical areas on the campus
- Quality, safety, and patient experience (as applicable to campus structure)
- Collaboration with ancillary and support services including case management, social services, infection prevention, and education
