Chief of Staff

Job Description - Chief of Staff

About LifeLine Financial Group

LifeLine Financial Group (LLFG) is a boutique multi-family office founded by Humble Lukanga, built over nearly two decades to serve professional athletes, entertainers, entrepreneurs, and cultural leaders. The firm provides integrated financial services —investment management, tax strategy, estate planning, cash-flow oversight, and risk management — with offices in Beverly Hills, Denver, and Houston. LLFG has built something rare: a financial services organization that genuinely protects and grows the generational wealth of Black and brown communities at the highest levels of sports and culture. The firm is now entering its most ambitious chapter, scaling aggressively toward $1 billion in assets under management while building the senior leadership team to sustain that trajectory.

The Opportunity

LifeLine Financial Group is seeking a Chief of Staff to serve as the direct operating extension of its Founder and CEO. This is not an administrative role or a stepping stone. It is one of the most consequential leadership positions in the firm. The right person will sit at the intersection of strategy and execution — translating vision into firm-wide clarity, protecting the quality of every major decision, and driving accountability across a leadership team that spans multiple cities and disciplines. For the right candidate, this role offers a clear, explicit path to senior executive leadership as LLFG continues to grow.

What You Will Do

CEO Leverage &Time Management

  • Filter information, decisions, and demands with discipline — only what requires the CEO's direct attention should reach him.

  • Prepare the CEO for every important meeting with concise briefs, context, and risk summaries so he walks in fully informed.

  • Represent the CEO in meetings when appropriate and follow through on every commitment he makes.

  • Manage the CEO's priorities proactively, ensuring his time and energy are always on the highest-leverage work.

Strategic Thought Partnership

  • Pressure-test ideas and model scenarios across hiring, service line expansion, compensation structures, and margin improvement.

  • Turn ambiguity into structured decisions by framing tradeoffs clearly and presenting options with a recommendation.

  • Advise on complex deals, strategic partnerships, and new business lines with a clear-eyed view of opportunity and risk.

  • Serve as a trusted sounding board — someone who will tell the CEO what he needs to hear, not just what he wants to hear.

Firm-Wide Execution & Accountability

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives including client retention strategy, margin improvement across the business management firm and the RIA, and key hiring pipeline.

  • Hold leaders accountable to their commitments and drive movement on firm-wide priorities without creating friction.

  • Track KPIs across revenue, margins, client retention, and pipeline; ensure leadership always has a clear, current picture of firm performance.

Communication, Infrastructure &Special Projects

  • Translate the CEO's vision into clear, actionable directives the full team can understand and execute against.

  • Establish and manage the leadership operating cadence: agendas, follow-through tracking, and decision documentation.

  • Build KPI dashboards and decision-making frameworks that move the firm toward disciplined, data-informed leadership.

  • Own high-priority special projects — new business lines, strategic partnerships, operational redesigns, and any initiative the CEO identifies as a firm-wide priority.

What Sets This Role Apart

  • Direct and daily access to one of the most respected founders in sports and entertainment financial services — a learning environment unavailable at larger institutions.

  • A genuinely consequential mission: protecting and growing the generational wealth of Black and brown athletes, entertainers, and entrepreneurs at the highest levels of culture and sport.

  • A team that has stayed together for ten, twelve, and fifteen years — because the mission, the culture, and the leadership are worth staying for.

  • A clear, explicit path to senior executive leadership as LLFG scales toward $1 billion in AUM and beyond.

Qualifications

Required

  • Two to four years at a top-tier management consulting firm (McKinsey, Bain, BCG, or equivalent) or equivalent analytical and strategic experience at a high-growth organization.

  • Two to four years of operating experience inside a high-growth firm, executing across multiple functions simultaneously.

  • Direct experience supporting a Founder or CEO in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

  • A track record of building systems, processes, or teams from the ground up — not inheriting finished infrastructure.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to represent the CEO's voice with precision and credibility.

  • Based in Los Angeles; consistent in-person presence at the Beverly Hills office is required.

Preferred

  • Experience in wealth management, financial services, or professional services within sports and entertainment.

  • Prior Chief of Staff experience or a role managing a C-suite executive's priorities and strategic agenda.

  • MBA or advanced degree from a top-tier institution.

Who You Are

  • Mission-driven, self-directed, and calm under pressure — with the confidence to push back when it matters and the judgment to know when to do so.

  • A relationship builder who earns trust in a tight-knit, long-tenured team while commanding respect as a leader.

  • Slightly intense in the best way: high standards, high energy, and fully committed to a long-term partnership with this firm.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary of $150,000 to $200,000 commensurate with experience, plus performance-based incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) with employer match, and flexible PTO. This role carries a clearly defined path to senior executive leadership within LifeLine Financial Group.
