About the Role
The Company, a leading environmental agency responsible for managing the local community's water supply, wastewater treatment, and environmental regulations, is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Office of Asylum Seeker Operations (OASO). This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and responsive delivery of complex services to asylum seekers, including legal support, advocacy, shelter, education, workforce training, and essential donations. The COO will be tasked with monitoring and evaluating operational performance, leading change management efforts, and fostering a culture of innovation. They will also advise the Executive Director on operational matters, participate in strategic planning, and develop strong relationships with community representatives and government agencies.Candidates must have a graduate degree in business administration, public administration, public policy, or a related field, or a bachelor's degree with significant managerial experience in social services. Preferred skills include over 10 years of administrative or managerial experience, with at least 2 years in social services related to immigrant populations, and a proven track record in change management, strategic planning, and performance improvement. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to adapt to changing conditions and work flexible hours. The COO will be expected to represent OASO in various community settings and may need to travel between housing facilities to provide real-time feedback on operations.
