It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. Description of Work
The Chief Probation/Parole Officer (CPPO) supervises Probation/Parole Officers, Judicial Services Coordinators, and clerical staff in the unit. The CPPO coordinates and manages the unit’s workflow to ensure the effective implementation of Community Supervision goals and strategies. The CPPO handles daily operations and makes decisions about offender supervision. This includes case assignments, workflow coordination, scheduling, time tracking, and staff training. The CPPO also deals with discipline, conflicts, and complaints as needed, oversees team staffing and employee performance.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Salary Range: $50,088.00- $87,654.00 effective 2/1/226

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience as a North Carolina Probation/Parole Officer, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The Bachelor's degree is a requirement. There is no equivalency for the four-year degree requirement based on N.C. Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.
Necessary Special Qualifications: Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
